Time Out

Organizations are living systems that must respond to the permanent turbulence in its environment. Learning is a primary resource that informs what must happen as an organization struggles to sustain itself.  Calling Time Out is often viewed a an luxury. Davidson Jones realizes that Time Out is a necessary element of the learning cycle. And it is too often the missing element. Davidson finds getting the right people in the room and calling Time Out two of the biggest challenges he faces with his clients. However, his clients are quick to appreciate that calling Time Out and getting the right people in the room is more than half the battle. Time Outs can be used to revisit mission, to scan the business environment, to create work process maps, to  problem solve, to create critical mass of support and awareness and to enhance organization learning.
